Our Story
What is Sweets 4 Dayz?
Sweets 4 Dayz is a custom cookie business, specializing in personal and corporate events and special occasion gift sets.
It’s all about the joy…
I enjoy the way a dessert can bring joy to someone else. I enjoy how a dessert can be a small satisfaction to make someone’s day, something that brings out happiness, allowing them to get pleasure from the little things. I enjoy that I can be a channel to create someone’s vision through mixing, baking, and designing a dessert. I enjoy manipulating the simple concept of baking into gifts that can be given during a dark day or be used to symbolize a special moment in someone’s life. I know this sounds sappier than it should, but I myself didn’t even realize this career could spread so much joy. This passion has exposed me to new ways to connect with people, create content that I love to make and share, and bring out stories I never thought baking something as small as a cookie could do.
I am lucky to have realized so early in life that it is really the small things that make all the difference. Take away everything else and relationships, love, and joy are all that really matters at the end of the day. I am proud to say I have created a business out of a passion that allows me to create and value all three.
I am Deirdra Lambright, the owner and founder of Sweets 4 Dayz. Wow, I just love the way that sounds! Ever since I started baking for my Girl Scout troop’s Christmas bake sales in 3rd grade, my passion for it only grew from there. I was the one who didn’t mind when we stayed up late to finish up a couple more dozen cookies, then sold at the 7 mile fair in Racine, Wisconsin the next day, because I never really got tired of it.
As I got older I loved binging food network channel shows with my mom and started bringing desserts to family events and school. By high school, it was clear to most people I knew that I wanted to take my baking passion to the next level, whether they believed I could actually do it or not. On the other hand, I was always interested in business, growing up with very motivating entrepreneurial minded parents. So that split me between choosing culinary school or business school. Yes, I took the option that gave me a scholarship, and wound up at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. But of course this didn’t stop me from finding a way to mesh my love for baking with my savvy business side. Feeling scared and unprepared, I gathered up the courage to start Sweets 4 Dayz in February of 2018, as a freshman in college. Four years later, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship and had the wonderful opportunity to pursue my business full time. And the rest is history!
